Back to the Old Grind, sometimes known as crazy!

Whew! It's been like pulling teeth trying to keep up with my posts on here. This week has been especially tough. My laptop continues to give me problems, and we have headed back to school this week. So, needless to say, time has not been on my side. My goal is to get better at posting something from the day without worrying about having to have a photo attached to it. Being that how much I love taking pictures, that isn't going to be easy!
As I said above this week we have headed back into the old grind, which meant homeschool and on Mondays, that means school on the road. I find it a challenge to feel like I am getting enough school in. We are pretty much in the car off and on from 11:00a.m. until we get home around 6:00p.m., sometimes later if Jimmy's mom is gracious enough to cook dinner.

Just in case you can't imagine why Monday's present a challenge for me, here are a few photos for you to show what a typical Monday might include.......

It's eleven o'clock and we're off..

Have you ever tried racing to an appointment...in a car...with a toddler...swinging a wooden hockey stick over your head??

Why are we not as amused as he is?

Hello.... aren't you two suppose to me doing some math and language?
Okay, you are doing school in a car but don't think I won't send you to the principal's office
aka (some gas station bathroom!)

Conner is done with speech therapy.......
Time for a little lunch, there's nothing quite more exciting than eating in a car...
with four children.....all wanting the same thing......at the same time

It wouldn't be a normal day with the Conwell's if a child of ours didn't find
some new way to do something.....that you have never thought of.....
Today, it is Conner, who has somehow thought it would be a great idea to take the
top of his carseat and pull it over his head....upon which it became stuck....
which lead to screaming....which lead to Jimmy laughing hysterically...
which lead to the above photo
.
.
Because sometimes learning is best found outside the car....

We stopped by a place mentioned in our Tennessee history workbooks.
Even though we aren't able to tour the cave until spring, we were able to learn about the cave's history, and visit Swan lake.

This was the hit of the day....for everyone...

One of the great things about homeschooling hands on, is just that it's.....
