Eleven Years Ago Today....

Eleven years ago today, I was blessed with the most beautiful, baby girl I had ever seen. I sat terrified and excited as I stared at this 8 lb. 15 1/2 oz. bundle in my arms. She was one of my biggest dreams fulfilled. As a child, my dreams were not to become a doctor or teacher, but to become a wife and a mother. She was the start of a new phase of my dream, that dream of motherhood.

I find myself saying... Eleven years, has it been that long already? Where does the time go? I have seen her begin her transformation from that little baby into an ALMOST teenager. That's right, Alex, you're NOT there yet! She has brought so many blessings into my life that I didn't expect, but I guess tht's the way God does things. Just when we think He has filled our cup to the top, He allows it to run over with more than we ever asked for.

Miss Alex is my sidekick, we are the only girls in a sea of boys. She is my helper, she challenges me to become better because when I fail in how I think and behave towards myself, I see her follow that example. She is my inspiration, she has done so many things in her eleven years that I've dreamed of doing my whole life.

Little did I know, when I made that wish to be a mommy so many years ago, that I would be learning more from that little bundle, than I would teach her.

So, Alex, the BIG ELEVEN has arrived. Take the time to enjoy every single second because it passes too quickly. I feel so blessed to know that God chose me for you to be given to. I couldn't have wished for ANYTHING better. Thank you for being my dream come true.
