Connerisms...

that's my new word.
He is constantly coming up with his own way of looking at things...
usually to get his way out of trouble.
I figured it was time to give Conner his rightful place
in the dictionary.
***
Now, on to the lastest Connerism...
Carson and Conner are playing cars on the stairs
as I clean up the breakfast dishes from this morning.
I know a problem has arisen as soon as I hear Carson wailing.
Upon his entering of the kitchen,
my suspicions are confirmed as he tells me that Conner decided to
smack him on the cheek with a hotwheels.
I contemplated the decision of
from now on buying only toys made from foam rubber,
but reminded myself that Conner is Conner and would soon take the foam rubber
and find some way to turn it into a weapon of some kind or
something that will help him hang from the stair railing yet again.
So, now back to the problem at hand...
I take Carson and go to find Conner still playing with the car on the stairs
"Conner, did you hit Carson on the cheek with the car?" I asked.
"No, momma I didn't."
Conner, did you hit Carson on the cheek with the car?" I ask again.
"No, ma'am."
"Well, Conner, how did Carson get that big red spot on his cheek then?!"
without blinking an eye he replies,
"I think he has a sunburn, and he follows that with "Oh-h-h-h"(it a Homer Simpson style voice)
and a shake of the body for extra effect.
and then again
"Oh Yeah, he has a sunburn, O-h-h-h."
After a little lesson about lying and
what God and Mom & Dad think about it,
he rethinks his answer.
Thank the Lord, I can see he has a conscience!
"Conner, now that you've told the truth about hitting Carson,
what do you think Jesus would want you to do about it?" I asked.
"Give him a hug."
Hugs were given, apologies made, and all is well again at the Conwell house.
.......
....
at least for now!!

So mischievious, so curious, so rambunctious, but yet so sweet, so loving, so stinkin' cute!
