It's about giving.

I am holding my breath
and praying that I have found the problem with the blog.
I had to monkey with a few things
so my post of
Miss Ella and Miss Zoe
from a couple of days ago has been moved a little,
and I have had to remove the You Tube video
from Jimmy's mom's birthday wish
but hey, anything to have things back to normal around here!
~~~~~
About the giving...
This past Saturday,
our family had the honor of participating
in a local autism walk for
Make a Difference Day.
The whole thing was done by
a group of students
from our local elementary school.
What a wonderful thing for us
to get to show our support
for autism awareness
but more importantly
to our great little friend...
Ella and her family.
How much does it really take to
show someone you care
or
that you want to make a difference in their life.
Usually not very much...
so why do we not do it more often?
A group of cheerleader moms
gave up time, gave of themselves
to allow their daughters to
give of themselves.
My sisterfriend, Angie, and Miss Ella
getting ready to roll.
Angie and Dan gives of themselves
each and everyday...
but it's so worth it
to look at this face...
Miss Ella didn't roll long,
but when she did, many times,
I had the pleasure of being her chauffeur.
Even more of a blessing to me...
I didn't push much...
or take pictures much....
simply because Miss Ella
wanted me to walk with her
and hold her hand.
A simple thing for some
but to me...
it was priceless... it was a prayer answered...
it was a sign that Ella is trying to reach out.
I count it a great honor
that she reaches to me.
Along with Ella,
I had the pleasure
of escorting her cousin, Autumn, as well.
Yes, I felt quite special that day!
It's great to be able to give without
even knowing it.
I may have been giving up a little bit of my time
but gaining time with Miss Ella...
there is nowhere I would have rather been!
The littlest ones may not realize
what they were walking, running, and giving themselves for now...
but I hope they will know one day
and continue to give of themselves
and make a difference
and show love for others
by doing things just like this.
I see how much
what I decide to be involved with and love...
becomes what my children
love and become involved in.
It's always a blessing to see
that when you love and give to someone
how they always seem to give and love you back.
Conner has always loved Mrs. Angie,
and in this photo it's easy to see why...
she loves him too!
Boys seemed to rule the part of the walk we were in...
that's ok,
like minds tend to stick together!
We were all there for one purpose,
to spread once again
Inspiration. Awareness. Hope.
Along the trail
there were many things from nature
the boys found to stop and explore.
Jed found this heart shaped leaf
and asked Carson to hold his heart.
That about sums up what we
wanted to do that day...
we place their hearts in our hands...
to be placed in our prayers
each day, everyday.
~~~~~
The walked was soon over and
the kids decided it was time for some fun.

Mr. Jed...

headed straight...

for the train.
It wasn't long before everyone joined him.

Mr. Owen
even gave of himself and
walked a little...

from this face
it looks like he had a great time doing it!

Then...

a few carnival rides before heading home.

No rides for Ella...

just the boys...

and ...

someone else who forgot she's not a kid anymore!

Blake swore he didn't want to ride
and tried his best not to smile
but I have proof right here that he did enjoy it...

as did I...
whether I look like it or not!
~~~~~
Give of yourself today,
Make a difference in someone's life.
It doesn't have to be anything major...
just a little something to show you care.
You'll spend the rest of your week being glad that you did.
