DA-DUMP......DA-DUMP......

I think a hear a heartbeat.....
Could it be that this blog still has a little life left in it?
....
After a failed harddrive...
which resulted in many newly added gray hairs
I think we may be back in business!
I have a lot to catch up on because
but I am glad to finally be able to communicate
with the outside world
yet again.
~~~~~
There's so much to catch up on,
but to start back,
I have for you,
the newest...
most beautiful 12 year old
on the block.
She started out as our Cinderella
back when she was five...
that was her birthday wish that year
and at her party
that's who exactly who she was.
There she stood in her sparkly blue dress
complete with crown glistening in her hair.
....
Miss Alexandra
turned 12 just yesterday.
Cinderella has gotten older
and has now turned into a beauty.
She is already looking forward to next year...
thirteen!!!!
Her eagerness is balanced by the fact
that her daddy and I can't seem to fathom
the idea that our little Cinderella is growing up.
We find ourselves wishing often
that she would just slow down
and cherish each day of her twelth year
because when she reaches our ages...
she will be glad that she did.
She spends her days
spinning and twirling and doing cartwheels across the floor.
She has hopes of being a cheerleader...
We have hopes of her finding happiness in being herself...
the one God created her to be.
We have hopes that she find's God's will for her life
and use the talents He's given her to
become someone a lot more special in this world than
Cinderella.
This weekend
Daddy will get to have one chance to dance with his Cinderella
before next year comes and she is officially
a little girl no more...but a teenager.
She will attend the Winter Ball for the
Junior League of Cotillions
she is participating in.
She may dread the father-daughter dance
that closes the ball out...
but I have a feeling that Dad will hope,
as I will,
that time will stand still
and for a few brief moments
she will be that little girl of five again....
the little girl we called
Cinderella.
The say that the eyes are the window to the soul....
Hers must be just beautiful.
That smile can brighten any dreary, cold day.
Alexandra,
Despite how old you grow...
there will always be some little something
that reminds us of you as a little Cinderella
at the age of five.
Life's road will take you many places
and allow you to see many things....
Always remember what it felt like to be little Cinderella...
Always savour the moments of being a twelve years old....
Always know we love you,
that we are proud of you,
and that we feel so blessed to know you are ours.
  4. So, this may have to be the last time I ever visit your blog! All I seem to do is cry everytime Im here ((granted its happy tears)). You have such a way with words! And Alex---WoW! I cannot believe how fast she is growing up. I really hope she cherishes her time growing up and especially the times with Jimmy. I can only hope that she knows how lucky she is to have a dad like that. The pictures from the ball were amazing and very touching. Everytime I read one your blogs whether its about the beauty of nature, the strength of God, or what silly things the boys have done this time, your words always seem to touch a special place in my heart.
  5. Mollie, please don't make this your last visit! I have been on the heavy side since returning from Christmas, but promise more crazy Conwell stories are to come. I have resorted to keeping a notepad with me so that I don't forget the funny stuff.
    Thank you Miss Mollie for the kind words, you are quite a special lady yourself. Don't ever let ANYONE or any circumstance make you feel differently. I love you girl.
