Daddy's Little Girl....

Alexandra is growing up.
There is no hiding it...there is no slowing down
it's just a fact of life for us as parents.
It's so hard for me as a mom....

to see it happen...
I believe it's even harder for Dad...
after all,
she's a self proclaimed
"Daddy's Little Girl".

That's why this event was so special.
It took place at the...
Technically,
it was the cotillions winter formal.
Alex is taking a National League of Junior Cotillion Class
to teach her manners and etiquette...
to teach her how to behave,
how to treat others,
but more importantly...

how to be treated herself.

to have confidence in herself,
and to learn how to be the best young woman
God has made her to be.
What made the event extra special

for someone known as Daddy's Little Girl,

was the
Father-Daughter dance
that came at the end of the evening.
She may not yet realize
just how special that moment was...

but when she looks back in years to come...

I hope she will smile at the memory

and know what a treasure she has.

However,
for daddy,
it was evident on his face
that he knew to cherish the moment
for these times are passing by so quickly.

She shared this time with who else...
her friend, Kara.

I know her dad was as proud,
to share such a special moment with his daughter...

as this Daddy was.

Alex always remember
that these hands will be there to help you
tackle whatever you may face in life...

That this smile will always be there
to brighten the day
when life has got you down...

That these feet will strive to always lead you
down the right path...

and that no matter how big you may get
you will ALWAYS be
"My Little Girl"
We love you.

  1. Alex, you look beautiful!! I love your dress and your shoes---very cute. I am sooo proud to be your aunt. Try to remember every little bit about that night because one day you look back and realize how much time passed by and how much you value the memories of that night.

    Love ya

  2. I'm getting to the point where I am going to have to stop logging on here. Because everytime I do I have cried my eyes out! Your blog on the Winter Ball was excellent (as always!). I pray both girls look back and see how precious that night was. Two Daddy's girls, dancing with their daddys, to the most daddy's girl song ever!! I am thankful we were able to witness that moment with them.
