Posting Palooza Part 2

While waiting for Jimmy to finish at the dentist office,
I found the time and the place to take a few photos of the big kids.
They cooperated for the most part!

Just call it a
Photo-Posting Palooza!!!!

Ibuprofen has kicked in,
Fever and chills are gone for now,
got photos to post
looks like a good time for
Photo-Posting Palooza
Part 1!!
As we left Christian Way Farms
last Monday,
I noticed a beautiful little section of poppies
on the side of the road.

Photobucket

Granted it was in the heat of the day, the brightest sun possible, but thought I would try to get a picture anyway.

Photobucket

Alex could only handle one shot and then she was squinting from the bright sun

So.....

Photobucket

guess who spoke up & asked if he could have his picture taken?

Photobucket

I'm so glad he did.

Love his little guy, love this picture!

Learning as I go...

I just realized that if I started a post one day
and go to post it another day
It uses the first day I worked on it to post it on.

For example,
I just posted my photos from Christian Way Farm
I worked on it a little on Monday.
To find it look under the Memorial Day post from May 26, 2008.
Sorry but I am learning as I go with this thing!

May We Always Remember

I hope that I will raise a family that will always remember what today is about and never forget what it means to be an American soldier and an American soldier's family. So many times the sacrifices made by our military are overlooked by politics, a fight over who is right or wrong, republican or democrat, but bottom line, we are ALL Americans.

Regardless of the differences we may have, we must respect the American man who gives his life for our freedom, and the freedom of others.

A look at why we must remember

to every soldier who has given the ultimate sacrifice

THANK YOU !

Christian Way Farm 2008

Ok, I am laying here sick as a dog.
What do I decide to do?,
do a blog post with hopes
that it will take my mind off the fact
that I feel terrible and
that my house is an utter disaster area.
If you think about it, say a prayer for me and the clan.
I am beginning to think we are never going to stay well!
That is what I get for talking about another family who was sick all the time!!
(note to self: think twice before opening my big mouth)
~~~~~~~
Anyway, the point of this post
is to get my mind of that so onto some photos.
We visited Christian Way Farm
in Hopkinsville, Ky last Monday.
Here are a couple favorites,
some I played with a little.
If you have any thoughts about them,
feel free to leave me a comment.
Right now,
I have only one person who comments
occasionally and that's my friend
Ms. Wendy.
I am up to almost 2,000 visits,
I know Wendy isn't the only visiting,
so if you get a chance leave me a note.
I'm interested to see who's out there!
Now....
onto the photos
Trying out something new
Photobucket
I liked this one alot.
I think it's the look on his face, the composition of the photo
Photobucket
This one of Miss A shows how the little ones were taking in all of the things they saw there.
Photobucket
Mr. O,
does he take a bad picture?
Photobucket
they even had a place where boys can be boys
Photobucket
Saw a seat, grabbed a subject!
Photobucket
another I played with a little
Photobucket
the look of pure mischief!
Photobucket
I liked the interaction here, and the light was just beautiful
Photobucket
what can I say?
cute subject, willing subject, I WILL take a picture!!!
Photobucket
Mr. T,
He is such an inspiration. He doesn't let his birth defect stop him.
He just keeps going.
What a cutie pie!
Photobucket
The last photo I took on the way out.
Beautiful.
Here are the rest of the photos from the day.
Reminders...
Life is hectic,
kids running every direction,
arguing, making messes,
drawing on walls,
rooms are disasters, sports every night,
attitudes abound,
you think,
I can't wait for this to pass,
step back for a moment and put it into perspective.
You will be glad you did.
Over the last week, I have been reminded of how short life can be,
and how we should treasure every moment with our children.
Both the good & the bad ones.
My cousin called on Thursday
crying as she told me to pray.
Her friend's son had fallen off a boat dock into the water
he was missing, then found, but not in time.
A young life ended.
No Warning.
No Way to Prepare
your mind or your heart for such an event.
this was his story.....
BRIAN STEVEN
CARROLL
Brian Steven Carroll, age 18, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008
as the result of a drowning accident.
Brian was saved at an early age and
was a member of Russellville Baptist Church.
He would have graduated from Cherokee High School this year
and was a hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents,
Kris Henry and Gina Diane Carroll;
and grandparents, Bill and Sandra Noe.
He is survived by his parents,
Lisa and Scott Noe of Bulls Gap;
special sister, Erica Lawson;
grandparents, Kathy Hightower and Steve and Darlene Carroll;
aunt, Sharleen (Cheyenne) Farmer;
special cousin, Jacob Farmer;
and several other cousins, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008
at Russellville Baptist Church
with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the services at the church.
Pallbearers will be Brian’s friends, Lee Cantwell, Steven Bales, Chris Bales,
Mitchell Bragg, Timothy Murr, and Rob Collins.
Fast forward to today.
I go to check my email
I find a headline about a favorite artist of mine.
His fame, his awards, couldn't help him avoid a tragedy of his own.
Without warning, he lost his little girl yesterday.
No Warning.
No Way to prepare
your heart or mind for such an event.
this is her story
Maria Sue Chapman (2003-2008)
Maria Sue Chapman, adopted and youngest daughter to
Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman,
was killed Wednesday night in a tragic accident in the family driveway
on Wednesday evening.
She was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital
but for only reasons God can explain she went home to Him...
not to Franklin as we all so desperately wanted.
Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family.
This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many.
Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating
the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman,
and were just hours away from a graduation party
marking Caleb Chapman's completion of high school.
Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out
5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago.
These words are unthinkable to type.
And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this
and because of Jesus I am certain through faith in Him
we will see Maria again.
- Jim Houser (Manager)
Steven Curtis Chapman is an artist blessed with the gift of music.
He has written and recorded many songs.
He wrote the song "Cinderella"
and recorded it on his latest cd.
Little did he know when he wrote it,
the truth in the song,
Little did he know,
the ending would be quite different.
Below is a clip of him telling about what inspired him to write the song
below that, the song.
After listening,
say a prayer for these families,
and then go
hug your children a little tighter,
be thankful for the good moments,
be thankful for the stressful moments as well,
it means that you have them for another day.
There Ought to be a Law....
There ought to be a law against being as cute as little "Miss L".
With those beautiful blue eyes, it is a pleasure to take her picture.
I made a deal with her mom, no fee this month for sign language classes for the kidsin return,take a few photographs of "Miss L". Stacy, I hope that you think it was a fair deal!Anyway, the afternoon sun had already pretty much taken over, so I had to find spots here and there to work, and watch my angles.
I have many to go through, but thought that I would share a few of my first look favorites.
So, without further ado,Little "Miss L"
